State GovHack Awards 2017

Brisbane saw an awesome night last Friday; inviting teams from all over Queensland to present the State GovHack Awards. Earlier this year, the founding members of Griffith Innovate came together to develop Touralytics. The evening was filled with excited participants sharing their experiences from GovHack with each other and discussing future plans to grow their initial concepts into commercially stable products. Touralytics took away the Best Queensland-Oriented Business Related Application Award along with an Honourable Mention for the Category of Data Show Off. Many other Griffith teams also appeared as winners that night such as Complaint Maker 3000 and their project ToMoveForShool being awarded for Best Use of Gold Coast Data.

The goal of creating Touralytics was not to win any awards but to concentrate on developing an idea by putting into practice the skills we’ve learnt throughout our IT careers. So the fact that our concept and implementation were acknowledged to be an innovative idea was a surprising turn of events.

If you would like to know more about TourAlytics and how it works visit our previous post here.

Congratulations to all the award-winning teams, and we look forward to seeing you all again at next year's GovHack event!
